On Tuesday 4 November 2014, the Health Select Committee, of which Valerie is a member, heard evidence from Norman Lamb MP, the Department of Health Minister for State for Care and Support as part of their inquiry into Integrated Care Pioneers.

On Thursday 6 November 2014 the House of Commons Governance Committee heard evidence from Myfanwy Barrett, David Natzler and Andrew Walker who are members of the Management Board.

On Tuesday 4 November 2014 the House of Commons Governance Committee heard evidence from from Dame Janet Gaymer and Barbara Scott who are non-exec members of the House of Commons Management Board and Alex Jablonowski, a former external member of the Management Board. Following this session there was further evidence provided by the Rt Hon Mr David Blunkett MP, Rt Hon Mr Peter Hain MP, Rt Hon Margaret Hodge MBE MP, and Mr Bernard Jenkin MP.

On Tuesday 28 October 2014 the Health Select Committee of which Valerie Vaz MP for Walsall South is a member heard evidence from the Chief Executive of NHS England, Mr Simon Stevens.

Valerie was voted onto the House of Commons Governance Select Committee. The Committee was set up after the Speaker’s announcement to pause the process of appointing a new Clerk of the House and Chief Executive, following the retirement of the former Clerk Sir Robert Rogers in July 2014.
