No CommentsI visited Mindful Gifts in Darlaston. The new shop is a Community Interest Company (CIC) which means it work for the good of the community rather than personal gain. The shop is brimming with nostalgia and helps people with dementia to remember by touch and smell.

On Friday 19 October 2018, I attended ‘an excellent night out with the pop stars’ at the Banks Stadium. The event celebrated the achievements of 11-25 children in care and care leavers and each child received an award.

A DWP administrative error has meant that 180,000 claimants of Employment Support Allowance have been underpaid. On its flagship policy on Universal Credit, the Government has refused to publish its own impact assessments.

I asked the Leader of the House to confirm that the Government are not using the Procedure Committee to take sovereignty away from Parliament by not giving Parliament a meaningful vote on the final deal? This is not a minority dictatorship; this is a parliamentary democracy, and Parliament is sovereign. This is the most outrageous power grab by the Government that has ever been seen.

The DWP is in a shambles

I am alarmed that a DWP administrative error has meant that nearly 180,000 people claiming Employment Support Allowance (ESA) have been underpaid and may be owed an average of £5,000 each. This has caused untold distress to ill and disabled people.
