The crisis of shop closures facing town centres across the country, including Walsall, is having a negative impact on both local communities and the wider UK economy. To combat this, Usdaw launched their Industrial Strategy for Retail at an event I attended in Parliament on Wednesday 5 June 2019.

To date 1390 people have signed a Change.org petition to oppose the loss of two staff at Walsall Arboretum.

I closed the pre-recess adjournment debate on 23 May 2019 on behalf of HM Opposition. The debate is an opportunity for Members to raise an array of issues that are important to them.

We are in “Brexit paralysis”—the words of a Government Minister. The Government have had three years, with five major speeches and red lines which never changed, and that have brought us to this position. Yesterday, the Prime Minister told the House that the Second Reading of the withdrawal agreement Bill would be in the week commencing 3 June; we now hear it is not, so in less than 24 hours the Prime Minister has broken her word.
