I have called for a statement a number of times at Business Questions from the Prime Minister or from the Home Secretary to provide an update on the knife crime summit.

I responded to a Business Statement on Monday 8 April 2019 outlining the debate on a motion to seek an extension of Article 50 in the event that the European Union (Withdrawal) (No. 5) Bill receives royal assent.

The European Union (Withdrawal) (No 5) Bill received Royal Assent on Monday 8 April 2019.

The cross-party Backbench Act requests the Prime Minister to ask the European Council for an extension to Article 50, thereby preventing the UK from crashing out of the EU without a deal.

The Government cannot govern, because again the Prime Minister has run down the clock. The Brexit process has been a shambles. There is no solution, and Ministers are resigning.
