The Parliamentary buildings (Restoration and Renewal) Bill passed the House of Lords on Thursday 5 September 2019 and the Lords amendments were considered in the House of Commons on Monday 9 September 2019. The amendments were agreed to and the Bill received royal assent on the same day.

On Tuesday 3 September 2019, HM Opposition supported the emergency debate motion to introduce the European Union (Withdrawal) (No. 6) Bill, which aims to stop a no-deal Brexit.

I am concerned about the ongoing situation in Kashmir. I have constituents who have families in Kashmir, Pakistan and India affected by this development. The unilateral decision taken by the Government of India to revoke Article 370 will only serve to increase tensions in the region and take us ever further away from the peaceful, political settlements that the people of Kashmir need.
