 On Wednesday 22 July 2020, I responded on behalf of the Opposition in a debate on matters to be raised before the forthcoming adjournment. This debate was held before the house rose for summer recess and provided MPs with an opportunity to discuss issues they would like to raise in Parliament. You can read my full speech below: 

Parliament voted on the Third Reading of the Trade Bill. This Bill provides the legal framework for our post-Brexit UK trade policy, but fails to protect the NHS from being sold off in a US-UK trade deal and it does not provide for proper Parliamentary oversight of any future trade deals. I have been contacted by many of my constituents who are concerned about the Trade Bill and the impact it could have on our NHS, food safety and environmental standards.

On Thursday 16 July 2020 I spoke in a general debate on Restoration and Renewal, a programme established to tackle the work that needs to be done to preserve the heritage of the Palace of Westminster. You can read my full speech below:
