No CommentsOn Saturday 19 September 2020, I visited Walsall Football Club with Sir Keir Starmer MP, Leader of the Opposition, and Labour’s West Midlands Mayoral candidate, Liam Byrne MP. We spoke to the Chief Executive Officer of Walsall FC Stefan Gamble and Chairman Leigh Pomlett about the club’s community work during the pandemic and their efforts to make the stadium Covid-secure for fans. The club have been working hard to implement social distancing guidelines for fans so that they can safely return when stadiums reopen.

Third Reading of the UK Internal Market Bill

On Wednesday 29 September 2020, Parliament voted on the third reading of the UK Internal Market Bill. This Bill sets out the UK government’s plans for trade in the UK after the Brexit transition period ends.

Macmillan Coffee Morning 2020

This year’s Macmillan Coffee Morning was held on Friday 25 September 2020. Each year, people in the UK and worldwide host their own Coffee Morning. The donations received go towards Macmillan services to help provide support to people who have cancer across the UK. Debate on Yemen

On Thursday 24 September 2020, Parliament held a debate on the situation in Yemen. This was the result of a public petition signed by over 210,000 people across the UK, including 638 people in Walsall South. The petition called for a ceasefire for all sides in Yemen to carry out humanitarian aid.
