The Genetic Technology (Precision Breeding) Bill introduces a regulatory system for precision bred plants and animals. It is important that we get this Bill right, as with the right regulatory standards, we can reassure the public around precision bred plants and animals whilst providing an environment in which research and development can flourish.

Fun Football Drop-In

I visited a drop in event for Fun Football in Portcullis House. Fun football is the largest provider of free football in the country, with a focus on expanding grassroots football. At the event I met with World Cup winner and England legend Sir Geoff Hurst.

It is now just over one month since the Conservative’s delivered their damaging mini-budget. Despite a wave of U-turns, the Government are continuing with their plan to cut Stamp Duty. Given the economic challenges that the country faces, it would be neither right nor responsible to cut stamp duty at this time. Especially when we have still not had the independent report from the Office for Budget Responsibility.
