” The Diwali event at Palfrey Community Centre brought together the community to celebrate the festival. I hope that everyone had a happy and peaceful Diwali.”
“At the event there was an appeal from the Anthony Nolan Charity for bone marrow donors from the Asian community. If an Asian person has cancer often their only chance of survival is a bone marrow transplant from an Asian donor. This means that only 6% of possible donors are able to help an Asian blood cancer patient. Anthony Nolan are working to raise awareness of this fact and encourage more Asian people between 16 – 30 to register with the charity.”
