Bentley West Primary School on Monmouth Road in Bentley has collected a petition of more than 200 signatures calling for traffic calming measures to be installed on Monmouth Road. On Friday 3 July 2015 I visited the school to collect the petition so that I can present it to Parliament.
I was contacted by residents of Monmouth Road who were concerned about the number of cars speeding on Monmouth Road, which is a narrow residential street. That the school has been able to collect so many signatures is an indication as to strength of feeling on this issue. When I present the petition to Parliament, the Department for Transport and the Transport Select Committee will have to respond to residents’ concerns.
The picture above shows me with Mr Rod Dickson, Principal of the Bentley Federation, Mrs Laura Baylis, Head of School and Mrs Gregory.
