Palfrey Sure Start rated Outstanding by Ofsted for second time

Congratulations to all the hardworking staff at Palfrey Sure Start Children’s Centre on South Street which has again been rated as Outstanding by Ofsted. This is Palfrey Sure Start’s second consecutive Outstanding rating from Ofsted and it is testament to the hard work and dedication of the centre’s staff. Palfrey is only Children’s Centre in the Country to have achieved two Outstanding ratings.

I have held constituency surgeries at the centre and have seen for myself its excellent work on many occasions. As Ofsted has noted in its report, Palfrey Sure Start is especially strong in engaging with the local community. Among its activities is an active engagement with fathers and the Centre employs a dedicated fathers’ worker.

In its report, Ofsted found that “The centre is at the heart of its diverse community and is held in high regard by all who come into contact with it. It is an extremely vibrant place and promotes cohesion in the community exceptionally well.”

There is evidence to show that the early years are important for giving children a good start. Palfrey Sure Start today have the potential to be felt for many years to come.

Palfrey Sure Start was previously rated by Ofsted as Outstanding in July 2010.
