I attended the Big Bang fair on the 5 November 2015 hosted by the Parliamentary and Scientific Committee in celebration of engineers week.
I met with Engineering employers and talented young scientists and engineers of the future.
I met with Krtin Nithiyanandam, a remarkable student who has developed a test which could not only pick up the early signs of Alzheimer’s disease but can also potentially stop Alzheimer’s from spreading further. Krtin is a Google Science Fair finalist.
I also had the pleasure of meeting with BAE Systems who informed me that this year they have taken around 725 apprentices ranging from Technician Apprentices to Business Apprentices. BAE Systems has also recruited over 300 graduates and undergraduates onto their schemes including the Engineering Graduate Development Framework and the Finance Leader Development Programme.
