I chaired the debate on the use of Neonicotinoids on Crops in Westminster Hall on Monday 7 December 2015. The debate was led by Ben Howlett MP and was on the motion: “That this House has considered e-petition 104796 relating to the use of neonicotinoids on crops.” The Minister, George Eustice MP replied to the debate.
It was decided by the Petitions Committee that the e-petition should be debated in Westminster Hall. Many MPs took part in the debate which included an understanding why our bee populations have been significantly declining in recent years. The role of bees in pollinating crops means that they are vital not just to our ecology but also our economy.
