Valerie chairs Westminster Hall debate

I chaired a Westminster Hall debate on the Procedure for debating and voting on Private Members’ Bills on Wednesday 13 April 2016.as a member of the Speaker’s Panel of Chairs.

The debate was moved by Jeff Smith MP who put forward the case for the procedure of debating Private Members’ Bills to be changed, as there is only a very small chance of the Bills being enacted, especially when Bills are talked out by a small number of MPs.
