In Walsall today I visited Walsall Council’s Black Country Impact Team who were based at St Paul’s at the Crossing.
The team help young people sign up for apprenticeships, traineeships, training courses, coaching, work placements, and can provide self-employment advice, including social enterprises.
The Impact Team can also provide advice and guidance, along with customised support tailored to individuals. A Key Worker will support the applicant throughout your journey, and additional items could include free personal protective equipment (such as safety boots and high-visibility clothing), CSCS card, interview clothes, childcare, travel and more.
You can find out more information about their work on their website here: www.walsall.gov.uk/blackcountryimpact
