Valerie Supports World Parkinson’s Day

Wednesday 11 April 2018 was the birthday of Dr James Parkinson, who is most famous for publishing ‘An Essay on the Shaking Palsy’ in 1817, and establishing Parkinson’s as an internationally recognised medical condition.

I was proud to mark the day with a global campaign to raise awareness about Parkinson’s and the perseverance of its sufferers. This inspiring, international effort asked the global Parkinson’s community to unite and show what living with the condition is truly like.

Parkinson’s is an incurable and degenerative brain condition and I hope that with a concerted, international effort we will be able to alleviate the suffering of those who contend with it every day.

You can find more information about how to recognise Parkinson’s and learn more about the campaign on the Unite for Parkinson’s website.
