On the weekend of Saturday 29 June 2019, I attended several summer events in Walsall. These events were part of the Mayor’s Community Weekend and were realised with the help of the National Lottery Community Fund, which awarded £85,000 to 170 groups across the West Midlands.
I enjoyed some wonderful live music at the Caldmore Acoustic Music Festival.
The festival showcased the artistic and cultural talent form the diverse local community. The event was staged in Caldmore Community Garden, a social space at the heart of the community.
There were performances from a wide range of local artists and musicians drawn from a wide cultural mix, bringing together people from across Walsall.
The Darlaston Community fun day at Darlaston Town Hall, organised in conjunction with Darlaston Rotary, offered a fun-filled day with face painting, sports games, arts & crafts and other activities. The aim was to bring the local community together and encourage new friendships.
