To mark Remembrance Sunday on 8 November 2020, I laid a wreath at the Cenotaph in Walsall Town Centre. A two minutes’ silence for reflection was observed and The Last Post was played by bugler Adrian Lacey.
Despite the pared-down commemoration this year, many people remained socially distanced and gathered to remember those who gave their lives to keep us safe.
We must never forget the sacrifices made by our Armed Forces, their families and the incredible bravery of our veterans. This year marks seventy-five years since the end of the second world war and the restoration of global peace.
