“I encourage all interested schools and youth groups to register for the UK Youth Rocketry Challenge by 11 March. The Challenge is a competition to design and build a model rocket which can keep an egg intact from launch to landing, and is an excellent opportunity for young people to put their Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths skills into action.
I met some of last year’s entrants at an event in Parliament including students from the 3 rd placed team Epsom College. It was great to hear that they are going on to study Aerospace and Physics at university.
I would encourage all schools in Walsall South to enter. Teams will compete against other students in the region for a place in the national finals in May 2022 to be crowned national champions. The winners will go on to represent the UK at the International Rocketry Challenge at Farnborough International Airshow this summer.
I wish everyone good luck in keeping the egg in tact.”
