Valerie acted as the compere at the Asian Voice Political and Public Life Awards 2013, which were held in the Members’ Dining Room of the House of Commons on Thursday 7 February 2013.
The Asian Voice Political and Public Life Awards were created by the Asian Voice newspaper to honour a number of people from diverse communities, walks of life and diverse political persuasions who serve society and who contribute significantly towards making a better world today and for the future. This is the sixth year the awards have been presented.
Valerie said:
“I was honoured to be asked to host the Asian Voice Political and Public Life Awards 2013. It is important to recognise the contribution made to politics and public life by people from diverse communities.”
“This year’s winners included Rt Hon Theresa May MP, who was awarded Cabinet Minister of the Year and singer, Navin Kundra, who was awarded Entertainer of the Year.”
