I returned to the Guru Nanak Temple in Caldmore on Sunday 28 July 2024 as I promised to do after the General Election. I spoke about the need to ensure we have social and economic justice and to all work for peace.
The Sikh community in Walsall and Bloxwich have worked hard to establish the community through hard work, success and giving something back to the community and embodies the principles of the Sikh religion. the Gurdwara is open to all who need it. the generations have made sure there is a place to worship in Walsall. Now all the communities in Walsall take part in the Vaisakki procession and it is a well established fixture in the calender. It was also good to see the Chapel of Rest progressing after working through the issues that arose.
I mentioned that I was contacted about the Indian farmers and the support I gave and I was pleased the issue was resolved.
I will continue to support the community with the issues they raise with me both locally and internationally.
