On Saturday 16 June 2012 Valerie attended Walsall Tennis Club’s Centenary Tournament at its premises in Birmingham Road to celebrate 100 years of the Club.

On Thursday 14 June 2012, Valerie Vaz, MP for Walsall South supported  the electrification of the Walsall-Rugeley Line in an Adjournment Debate.

Valerie has nominated Golden Moments on Ablewell Street to represent Walsall South in the Tiffin Cup 2012 South Asian Restaurant Competition.

Zak the Zebra and Valerie have teamed up to call for a safer crossing on Darlaston Road in Pleck. Zak made an appearance with Valerie and local campaigners at the zebra crossing, near the junction with Hough Road, on Friday 20 April to call for a signal controlled crossing to be installed on the road. Valerie presented a petition of over 300 names to Parliament on Monday 23 April 2012.
