No CommentsI visited Mindful Gifts CIC in Darlaston on Friday 20 March 2020. This wonderful shop will be operating as a community food and essential items outlet to help people who need essential items such as toilet paper, tinned foods and other grocery staples. They will be operating a ‘delivery service’ available for people who are vulnerable, isolating and in need of essential items. This will be run by volunteers in the community.

Covid-19: Access to Parliament

There are changes to public access of Parliament in response to the COVID-19 outbreak and the announcements made by the Prime Minister and Health Secretary. As the country works together against the coronavirus this means Parliament will need to restrict certain aspects of everyday life to prevent the risk of exposure to the public whilst continuing to keep the democratic process working.

Covid-19: Extension of Statutory Sick Pay and Benefit Measures

Following calls from the Opposition, the Government announced reforms to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) and benefits on Friday 13 March 2020 which will help delay the spread of Covid-19 and ensure people are not penalised for doing the right thing.
