On Wednesday 13 March 2019, the Government was defeated three times as the House of Commons voted against leaving the European Union without a deal.

Government’s Brexit deal defeated again in Parliament

The Government’s Withdrawal Agreement was agreed with the European Union on 25 November 2018. It was HM Opposition that first called for a ‘meaningful vote’, and after two years of negotiations, the Government scheduled the ‘meaningful vote’ to be on 11 December 2018. However, the Government fearing that it would lose then withdrew the vote.

On Monday 11 March I attended ‘Tackling Plastic Pollution’, co-hosted by the APPG on the Prevention of Plastic Waste, Plastic Oceans UK and the Coalition for Global Prosperity, about the damage that single-use plastic products are doing to Earth’s ecosystems.
