No CommentsIn June 2010 Valerie tabled an Early Day Motion seeking the support of other MPs for the campaign for a permament memorial to Second World War heroine Noor Inayat Khan, in Gordon Square, London. 34 MPs from all parties signed the EDM.

On Wednesday 24th November, Valerie Vaz MP for Walsall South attended the Presentation Evening at Alumwell Business and Enterprise College as a special guest. Valerie Vaz MP was pleased to present a variety of awards to the pupils at Alumwell and to celebrate their achievements with them.

On Saturday 20th November Valerie Vaz MP was a speaker at the Salaam Arts Festival: Inspiring Women’s Talents at The New Art Gallery in Walsall. The Salaam Arts Festival is an event which aims to identify and cultivate the artistic talents of Muslim women and young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and to showcase their contribution to British culture. The event included visual art workshops, lectures, exhibitons, spoken word performances and an art market.
