On Tuesday 25 October 2022 the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Bill had its second reading in the House of Commons. 

It is now just over one month since the Conservative’s delivered their damaging mini-budget. Despite a wave of U-turns, the Government are continuing with their plan to cut Stamp Duty. Given the economic challenges that the country faces, it would be neither right nor responsible to cut stamp duty at this time. Especially when we have still not had the independent report from the Office for Budget Responsibility.

It has been reported in the media that the Government will drop the Schools Bill.

I visited Barhale House, where I met with James Ingamells, the Northern and Yorkshire Regional Director. During my visit, I learnt about Barhale’s history and toured the facility. 

HM Opposition tabled a motion that would guarantee parliamentary time for a bill to ban fracking.
