Valerie was delighted to hear that two local primary schools have made it to the Regional Final of a national IT competition. Palfrey Junior School and Chuckery Primary School have made it to the short listing stage of Make IT Happy, which includes six schools from the West Midlands. They now stand a good chance of winning the regional prize of £1200 and being invited to the Houses of Parliament on 28th June.
Make IT Happy is a competition for 9-11 year olds which encourages them to use ICT creatively. The competition is run by the Parliamentary IT Committee (PITCOM) with support from e-skills UK and many other sponsors.

“I am absolutely delighted that Palfrey Junior School and Chuckery Primary School have made it to the regional final. The pupils and teachers have worked incredibly hard on this project, and it is a credit to them that they have made it to the final six schools from the entire West Midlands region.
“There is now a great chance that one of the schools will go on to win in the West Midlands region, and I wish them both the very best of luck. I sincerely hope to meet one of the schools in Westminster on 28th June.”
