Valerie was a member of the National Insurance Contributions Bill Committee which scrutinises the clauses in the Bill.
Valerie said:
“A new clause was tabled by HM Opposition: I asked the Minister about subsections (2)(b) and (c). These refer to take-up of the allowance and the geographical location of businesses taking it up. I asked the Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury David Gauke MP whether or not he agreed that they contain eminently sensible propositions that go to the heart of transparency and fiscal responsibility.”
“The Minister replied that he would give an undertaking to publish information about how many businesses have made use of the employment allowance, broken down by geographical location, twice a year.”
Valerie said: “I am very grateful to the Minister for his positive response. This is vital information which will enable everyone to see whether and where this allowance is being accessed.
