I signed the Holocaust Educational Trust’s Book of Commitment on 16 January 2017 to pledge my commitment to Holocaust Memorial Day and to honour those who were murdered during the Holocaust as well as paying tribute to the extraordinary Holocaust survivors who work tirelessly to educate young people.
Today I celebrated Martin Luther King Day - a national holiday held in America on the third Monday of January each year - to celebrate his birthday and commemorate his life and achievements as an influential American civil rights leader.

The Opposition Labour Party used the Opposition day debate on 11 January 2017 to draw attention to the crisis in the NHS. The figures released this week on NHS England’s combined performance data demonstrates the true pressure A&E departments are under.
It was announced this week that the Tory Government are reportedly preparing to sell The Green Investment Bank (GIB) with no guarantees that its green purpose, or any kind of public influence, will be maintained.

Three reports on air quality have highlighted the Government’s failings and inaction on air quality. A report by The Environmental Audit Select Committee European found that the West Midlands is in breach of legal air pollution limits, and the Minister for DEFRA has written to Walsall MBC about Walsall’s poor air quality.
