As a memebr of Mr Speaker's Panel of Chairs, I chaired the Westminster Hall debate on Regional airports and UK airports capacity on Tuesday 4 February 2016.
On Monday 1 February 2015, I visited the British Library to gain an overview of how the Library functions, what the important issues are to the Library as a public institution and what pressures it is currently facing.
I visited the site on Park Street in the Town Centre on Friday 29 January 2016 where Network Rail is replacing the railway bridge in order to create room for equipment needed for the electrification of the Chase Line.
On Thursday 28 January 2016, I spoke in the Backbench debate on the motion calling for a Commission on the long term future of the NHS and social care.
On Wednesday 27 January I joined thousands across the country to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.
Today, 26 January 2016, I attended the funeral of Bill Madeley MBE, Councillor for Bentley and Darlaston North for 40 years from 1971 to 2012. He had served as Mayor of Walsall and briefly as Leader of the Council. More recently, he was made a Freeman of the Borough.
On Monday 25 January 2016 Mr Speaker granted an Urgent Question requested by the Shadow Chancellor on the settlement reached between HMRC and Google. I asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury about Google's legal tax obligations.
On 25 January 2016 I was able to raise the issue of the increasing capacity need in schools following the Government's policy on free childcare.
