On Tuesday 29 April 2014 the Health Select Committee of which Valerie is a member heard from the new Chief Executive of NHS England, Mr Simon Stevens.
On Thursday 17th April 2014, the Chairman of Darlaston Town Football Club, Neil Chambers, released a statement on the future plans for the Club. The Chairman Neil Chambers said:
The Health Select Committee, of which Valerie is a member, heard evidence on NHS patient data from Kingsley Manning, chair of the Health and Social Care Information Centre and Max Jones, director of information analytics at the Health and Social Care Information Centre.(HSCIC)
Valerie Vaz, Member of Parliament for Walsall South, joined Usdaw in the House of Commons to support their campaign to persuade the Government to change Universal Credit rules that mean working people will only be allowed to keep 24p in every extra pound they earn.
On Tuesday 8th April 2014, Valerie asked the Minister of State for the Foreign Office, Hugo Swire MP, to look into human rights violations in Iran.
On Tuesday 8th April 2014, Valerie joined Rachel Reeves MP to demonstrate their support for Bill 174, which repeals the bedroom tax.
