Valerie met with Action on Hearing Loss and discussed their new innovative ‘Locate and Rate’ website. The website will help constituents to find local hearing services that will be best suited to their individual needs.
On Saturday 29 September 2012 Valerie spoke at the We are Walsall event at Gallery Square in the Town Centre. The event was organised to oppose the claims of a small group of extremist far right protestors who gathered in the Town Centre the same day.
On Monday 24 September 2012 at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, Valerie spoke at the launch of the Epilepsy12 National Audit Report.
On Tuesday 18 September 2012, Valerie raised the proposed changes to the planning rules which were announced by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government (CLG) on 6 September 2012 in a Pre-Conference Adjournment Debate.
Valerie seeks clarification from the Minister on Bescot Stadium Station Ticket Office opening times.
Valerie has written to Transport Minister, Norman Baker MP to seek urgent clarification regarding his decision relating to the ticket office opening hours at Bescot Stadium Station.
On Friday 14 September 2012, Valerie visited the Walsall MyPlace youth centre in Palfrey and was shown around the Centre by director Chris Cruise - Taylor.
At Questions for the Leader of the House on 13 September 2012, Valerie asked the Leader of the House of Commons, Rt Hon Andrew Lansley MP, for clarification of the Government's position on Sunday trading.
On Tuesday 11 September 2012 the House of Commons Health Select Committee, of which Valerie is a member, heard evidence from Dame Jo Williams, Chair of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Mr David Behan, Chief Executive of the CQC. Dame Jo Williams had resigned as Chair of the CQC before the acountability hearing.
