On Friday 13 September 2013, Valerie held a meeting at Stafford Road in Darlaston with residents and representatives of Centro and National Express West Midlands to discuss congestion caused by the number of bus routes using the road.
Valerie Vaz MP said:
“Stafford Road is in a state of chaos owing to uncoordinated bus services using this narrow residential street. I was keen for representatives of Centro and National Express West Midlands to see for themselves the problems experienced by residents as a result of the congestion caused by the excessive number of bus routes which use the road. I also felt that it was important for my constituents to be able to put their concerns directly to representatives of Centro and National Express West Midlands. The meeting was constructive.”
“Centro have agreed to put together a proposal for the residents. I hope that now real progress will be delivered for my constituents who have for too long been living with the disturbance and inconvenience of having three bus route using their narrow residential street.”
