I have also written to the Chief Executive of Walsall Council about the Sprint Bus proposals. I am concerned about the proposed location of the Park and Ride Car Park. Walsall Council’s Site Allocation Document 2019 identifies the proposed site as green belt land on page 139.
I have also written to Laura Shoaf, Managing Director of Transport for West Midlands about the removal of mature trees along Birmingham Road and the proposals to build a 300 space car park on green belt land as part of the Sprint Bus route.
I have written to the West Midlands Mayor Andy Street regarding proposals to build a 300 space car park on green belt land in my constituency. As part of these proposals, mature trees are being removed along Birmingham Road without consulting local residents. I object to this ill-conceived project, which undermines the Mayor's public commitment to protect Green Belt sites.
On 7 April 2021, I co-signed letters to the Prime Minister, Foreign Secretary and Health Secretary regarding the decision to place Pakistan and Bangladesh on the travel ‘red list’, with the ban coming into force at very short notice at 4am on 9 April 2021.
On Thursday 25 March 2021, I called for a clarification on the loss of green belt land in Walsall South and raised the case of my constituent who exports saddles to the European Union. You can read my full speech below:
