On behalf of HM Opposition, I spoke to a business motion which set out the timetable for MP's to debate the European Union (Future Relationship) Bill. The Government allocated a single day for parliamentary scrutiny of all stages of this Bill - a completely inadequate amount of time for such an important piece of legislation. You can read my full speech below:
At 9.36am I responded to a motion on virtual participation which extended the ability of MPs to participate in debates remotely. I first called on the Government to introduce these measures in June and have repeatedly done so. I welcome this motion as a necessary measure to keep MPs safe. You can read my full speech below:
I wish you a very peaceful Christmas and all good wishes for the New Year.
I visited Ablewell Hotel on Saturday 19 December 2020 to deliver Christmas presents for those in need. I also handed over some baby clothes donated by Ray Simmons of the Refugee and Migrant Centre (RMC), a charity that supports vulnerable individuals and families. You can learn more about the work they do by visiting their website here: https://rmcentre.org.uk/about-us/ .
