I asked when the Government will tackle the huge differentials in the pay system between executive and employee pay? The managing director of Waterstones, James Daunt, is paid a salary of £1.6 million, while nearly 1,900 of his employees do not even receive the real living wage. The chief executive officer of Centrica is paid 72 times the salary of an employee in the lower quartile of its salary range. The people at the base of the pyramid are the wealth creators.

I responded to a Business Statement on Monday 8 April 2019 outlining the debate on a motion to seek an extension of Article 50 in the event that the European Union (Withdrawal) (No. 5) Bill receives royal assent.

The cross-party Backbench Act requests the Prime Minister to ask the European Council for an extension to Article 50, thereby preventing the UK from crashing out of the EU without a deal.
The Government cannot govern, because again the Prime Minister has run down the clock. The Brexit process has been a shambles. There is no solution, and Ministers are resigning.
