At Business Questions I raised the Government’s treatment of the Windrush Generation. British citizens now in their 60s and 70s are losing the right to work, rent property, receive their pensions and access their bank accounts and vital healthcare, and some have even been deported. I called for a statement from the Home Secretary so she can tell the House how many people are affected, how many have been deported, and how many are in detention centres?

The reports from Douma on 14 April 2018 point to an attack having been carried out with chemical weapons, in full contravention of international humanitarian law. The evidence of the deaths and suffering inflicted by the attack, including on young children, is horrific and those responsible must be held to account. Both the Assad regime and Daesh have been held responsible for the use of chemicals in the past since the start of the Syrian conflict. A 2013 UN investigation into the use of chemical weapons in Syria concluded that chemical weapons were used. The use of chemical weapons is a war crime which I utterly condemn.
