The Opposition Labour Party used the Opposition day debate on 11 January 2017 to draw attention to the crisis in the NHS. The figures released this week on NHS England’s combined performance data demonstrates the true pressure A&E departments are under.
It was announced this week that the Tory Government are reportedly preparing to sell The Green Investment Bank (GIB) with no guarantees that its green purpose, or any kind of public influence, will be maintained.
Here is my latest View from the House published in the Walsall Advertiser:
Three reports on air quality have highlighted the Government’s failings and inaction on air quality. A report by The Environmental Audit Select Committee European found that the West Midlands is in breach of legal air pollution limits, and the Minister for DEFRA has written to Walsall MBC about Walsall’s poor air quality.
I officially opened Darlaston Town FC's new spectator stand on Saturday 17 December 2016 at the Paycare Ground, thanks to a £15,288 grant from the Premier League, through the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF) - the largest funders of non-league football in the country. In addition to this, the club raised more than £6,500 for the development itself. The opening celebrations were held as part of the club's Birmingham FA Vase fixture against Alvis Sporting FC, who emerged 4-0 victors.
