On Sunday the 13th November 2016 I attended the Remembrance Sunday Services at the Town Centre and in Darlaston. I laid a wreath at both events made by disabled ex-servicemen. The event started with a March past by the following Associations:
As Shadow Leader of the House it was a delight to welcome the Youth Parliament to the House of Commons for their 7th visit on Friday 11 November 2016. Young people aged 11-18 filled the Chamber and debated topics chosen through their Make your Mark ballot. Nearly one million young people had voted on topics to debate such as “Votes for 16 and 17 year olds” and “tackling racism and religious discrimination”.
On Sunday 13 November 2016 the nation remembered and honoured those who have sacrificed themselves to secure and protect our freedom. If you are in need of support or require support for someone else, the RAF Benevolent Fund may be able to help.
The Revd Liz Jones held a special service for HM Queen Elizabeth to celebrate her 90 Birthday during the weekend of the 11th and 12th of June 2016. Following the Service I wrote to Her Majesty the Queen to let her know of the event. Her Majesty expressing her gratitude for the event said she was deeply moved by the response to her milestone birthday, and was touched to hear that two Services were held to commemorate the occasion.
HMRC signed a £75 million contract with Concentrix to correct tax credit claims. I am concerned for the growing number of my constituents and others across the UK who have had their tax credits unfairly and unjustly stopped. This failure has placed many people under strain in forcing them to prove their eligibility for tax credits.
