On 24 August 2016, I made a site visit to see the proposals of this planning application. Many of my constituents have objected to the application to build 12 flats on the car park.
On Sunday 31st July I attended the Annual Goan Festival at Cranford Community College in Hounslow to celebrate Goan Association (UK) 50 years of service to the Community. Goan Association is a voluntary Association which aims to embrace the culture of Goa while welcoming new traditions.
The Afternoon Cream Tea at Delves Baptist Community Church is always a good opportunity to meet with folk who meet each other in a wider social setting. There were many stalls with delicious homemade cakes and desserts made by local residents. Delves Baptist Community Church raised a grand total of £426 at the event.
I spoke in the Summer Adjournment Debate on Thursday 21 July 2016. I raised the concerns of my constituents in relation to Walstead Road, Great Barr and the Broadway campus of the University of Wolverhampton, and called on the Government to take action on litter and restart a national anti-litter public information campaign.
On Wednesday 20 July 2016, the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee of which I am a member off, held an oral evidence session on Future Flood Prevention. The Committee heard evidence from Mr Matt Wrack, General Secretary of the Fire Brigades Union, Dr Thérèse Coffey MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and Mr Neil Hornby, Deputy Director of Flood Risk Management for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
