"I visited the Walsall Bangladeshi Progressive Society on Monday 27 April 2015 with Cllr Harbans Sarohi the Pleck Councillor on Walsall MBC. The Society provides advice and information to the Bangladeshi community on a range of issues. These include welfare rights and benefits, housing, health, education. The society are based at 79 Wednesbury Road, Pleck. It is a good place for people in the local area to drop in and get advice. There are also computers for people to use and sewing machines to hone craft skills. While I was there a family was finding out about delays in child benefit. "

"The Vaisakhi celebrations in Walsall are well supported by the local community. It was wonderful to see so many people march in the streets for the three-mile parade that started and ended at the Guru Nanak Gurdwara in West Bromwich Street."

"This is my selfie with Vicki Phipps the founder/director of her brilliant shop in Darlaston High Street. Vikki had the excellent idea to set up a shop with gifts and useful products, Daily Living Aids for people with Dementia and for older people. The shop is light, bright and with a great display of products. There is an automatic pill dispenser, jigsaws, a yellow clock where people may find it hard to distinguish a clock from a light colour background. I particularly like the day night clock where a moving picture changes from sun to moon depending on the time of day.

"I visited the Minhaj Pleck Youth Club to talk to some young members of the club and their parents. I spoke about how I got into politics and the values of the Labour Party. I also spoke about the work I have done over the past 5 years in Parliament and addressed the importance of engagement of young people in politics."
