On Tuesday 28 May 2013, Valerie was invityed by the Institute of Physics Club at the University of Kent.
Valerie visited Walsall Market on Friday 24 May 2013.
On Friday 24 May 2013, Valerie visited the Shree Ram Mandir Hindu temple on Ford Street to take part in the Shiv Ling Pran Pratistha Mahotsov celebrations. This marked the installation of a new Shiva Ling, a representation of the deity Lord Shiva. As part of the celebrations, the congregation processed along Ford Street and Wednesbury Road and returned to the Temple.
On Tuesday 22 May 2013 the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill had its Third Reading in the House of Commons. Valerie voted for the Bill. The Bill was carried: Ayes 366, Noes 161.
On Tuesday 21 May 2013, the Health Select Committee, of which Valerie is a member, heard evidence on Emergency Services and Emergency Care.
