On Wednesday 24 July 2013, the Health Select Committee, of which Valerie is a member, published its report into Urgent and Emergency Services.
On Wednesday 17 July 2013 Valerie spoke in favour of the Opposition Day motion on managing risk in the NHS.
On Wednesday 17 July 2013 Valerie, accompanied by Principal, Keith Whittlestone and Palfrey Councillor Allah Ditta met Schools Minister, Rt Hon David Laws MP at the Depaertment of Education to make the case funding for urgent building repairs at Joseph Leckie Academy.
On Tuesday 16 July 2013, Valerie was called Question 4 in Health Questions.
On Friday 12 July 2013 the Opposition was granted an Urgent Question following the Government's decision to postpone legislation that would force the removal of branding from tobacco packaging.
