On Thursday 13 June 2013, Valerie presented a petition signed by nearly 2000 users of the Walsall Gala Baths to Parliament calling for the Baths to remain open in Walsall Town Centre.
On Thursday 13th June 2013, during questions to the Department of Business Innovation and Skills, Valerie questioned the Minister for Universities and Science about arrangements for the funding of medical education and research. The Minister failed to address whether his Department is considering moving the budget to the Department of Health as was suggested.
On Wednesday 12 June 2013, Valerie spoke in the Westminster Hall debate on Human Rights in the Rakhine and Kachine States in Burma.
On Wednesday 12 June 2013 Valerie Vaz, Member of Parliament for Walsall South, jointly hosted the Food Standards Agency’s Summer Parliamentary Reception with the Rt Hon Stephen Dorrell MP and Dan Rogerson MP.
Valerie Vaz, Member of Parliament for Walsall South, tabled two amendments to the Children and Families Bill which had its Third Reading in the House of Commons on Tuesday 11 June 2013. However the amendments fell.
