On Friday 9 November 2012, Valerie attended the West Midlands Launch of the “BrainNav” online directory of services for people with acquired brain injuries.
The Princess Royal came to Gordon Square to unveil a memorial to Noor Inayat Khan in Gordon Square on 8th November 2012.
On 7 November 2012 Valerie raised the issue of eligibility of statutory rights between adoptive parents and parents whose children are born to them with the Deputy Prime Minister who was standing in for the Prime Minister.
In questions to the Leader of the House, on 9 November 2012 Valerie raised the issue that there were 210 more emergency calls this year compared to last year in the West Midland area. This resulted in the Ambulance Service having to draft in St. John’s Ambulances, a charity to cover front-line services.
The elections for the position of Police and Crime Commissioner for the West Midlands Police Area take place on Thursday 15 November 2012. This will be the first time that the Supplementary Vote (SV) system has been used for an election in the West Midlands.
