On Wednesday 2 November, Valerie spoke in the House of Commons Chamber, and called on the Government to rethink its plans to reduce the scope of legal aid.

Valerie attended the Silver Star Diabetes Challenge at the Houses of Commons. At the special MPs testing event, held on Wednesday 19th October, Valerie took the quick and simple Type 2 diabetes test to help raise awareness of the need for public testing for the disease.
On Friday 14th October 2011, Valerie met with a group of residents at Stafford Road in Darlaston. The road surface at Stafford Road is in a particularly poor condition and Valerie wanted to see the situation for herself.
