On Tuesday 15 May 2012, at Justice Oral Questions, Valerie Vaz, MP for Walsall South, asked the Justice Minister, Crispin Blunt MP, about the performance of the outsourced court interpreters, Applied Language Solutions (ALS).
On 13 May 2012 Valerie was a guest on the BBC Sunday Politics West Midlands Show. Topics for discussion included the continued closure of Stafford Hospital’s Accident and Emergency Department at night, the closure of rural banks in the UK and the recent public sector pension strikes.
Valerie has nominated Golden Moments on Ablewell Street to represent Walsall South in the Tiffin Cup 2012 South Asian Restaurant Competition.
Following the recommendations of the Health Select Committee – of which Valerie is a member – the Government has taken action to make the NHS complaints system more transparent.
