On 28 March 2012 Valerie took part in the Plan UK ‘Because I am a Girl Campaign’ with students from South Hampstead School. The girls took part in a 10km walk from Canary Wharf to Victoria Tower Gardens in Westminster where Valerie met them to hand out medals.
On 27 March 2012 the Government published their National Planning Policy Framework.
On 28 March 2012, the Health Select Committee, of which Valerie is a member, published its report into PIP implants and regulation of cosmetic intervention.
Valerie has welcomed news that the Olympic Torch Relay will travel through Walsall South on Saturday 30 June 2012, using Littleton Street East, Lichfield Street, Bridge Street, Park Street, Wolverhampton Road and Wolverhampton Road West.
Figures obtained from a request under the Freedom of Information Act by Valerie reveal that Walsall Borough Council’s income from parking charges across the Borough exceeded £1.1 million in the year to November 2011.
