On Thursday 8 March 2012, Valerie spoke during a Commons debate marking International Women's Day 2012.
On Wednesday 7 March 2012 the Health Select Committee, of which Valerie is a member, launched a follow-up report to the responses given by government and regulatory bodies to accountability reports published by the Health Committee in 2011.
Valerie is working with children’s continence charity ERIC and the Paediatric Continence Forum (PCF) in a campaign to establish better standards for school toilets and washing facilities.
On Friday 2 March 2012 Valerie Vaz, MP for Walsall South, spoke about social care and rights for people with a learning disability, at an event organised by the charity Mencap.
Valerie arranged for two constituents Hanin and Matt to a tour of the Houses of Parliament on 29 February 2012. Not only did they get to experience the historical beauty of Parliament but they got engaged.
