On Wednesday 13th October, Valerie Vaz MP attended an event at the Houses of Parliament in support of CSV's "Make a Difference Day" with pop music mogul Pete Waterman.
Valerie raised the issue of the continued detention of the Burmese Democracy Movement leader, Aung San Sui Kyi at Prime Minister's Questions on 15th September 2010, urging the Government to make continued representations to set her free. Daw Aung San Sui Kyi remains under the house arrest she was placed in by the Burmese Military Junta.
Valerie joined the debate on health issues at the Labour Party Conference in Manchester.
The party conference season at the end of September saw the Labour Party meeting in Manchester. An exciting week began with the declaration of the Labour Leadership election result.
The vegetables and flowers on show at Darlaston Town Hall were an impressive sight when Valerie visited the exhibition put on by the local allotment associations.
